Workplace Wellbeing - New Beginnings

Workplace Wellbeing
Workplace Wellbeing

Stepping into my new role as Health & Wellbeing Champion, I’ve been reflecting on how transferable skills play such a big part in making meaningful change.

As with health coaching, the early stages often involve building trust, overcoming hesitation, and encouraging people to see the value in trying something new. Whether it’s with patients or colleagues, there can be a natural reluctance to change – or a worry about being “done to, not done with.”

I’m now supporting 5 Primary Care Networks – 24 individual practices (and still finding out just how many staff that equates to!). Each team comes with its own experiences, knowledge, and ways of working. My plan, though, remains the same as it is with patients: start by understanding what matters most, and build from there.

When conversations are collaborative, barriers give way to enthusiasm. People become more open to new ways of working – not just for short-term improvements, but for the long-term benefits of health, wellbeing, work–life balance, and professional enjoyment.

I’m excited to be on this journey, making connections, listening, and helping to create positive change across our practices. 🌱
