Men’s Health Week (10–16 June) is a vital reminder that men’s health needs more than awareness — it needs support, connection, and space to talk.
As an NHS Health and Wellbeing Coach, I see every week how powerful it can be when someone is given time to be heard — without judgement, without pressure, and without being told what to do.
Far too many men:
- Delay asking for help
- Struggle with lifestyle change alone
- Feel disconnected from support systems
- See health issues as weakness, not warning signs
Health Coaches are trained to:
- Build trust and rapport
- Explore what really matters to the individual
- Support small, sustainable changes that lead to big shifts
- Empower people to take ownership of their wellbeing
Whether it’s managing stress, reducing alcohol, increasing movement, addressing long-standing health conditions — or simply having a safe conversation to get unstuck — health coaching works.
Men’s Health Week is a chance to open doors and start conversations — and coaches are ready to walk through them with the people who need us most.
Let’s keep pushing for a system that supports prevention, not just prescription.
